Marc Kalifa

Glass Artist

Since emigrating from France in the 1970s Marc initially established himself as a stained glass artist, but was lured by the appeal of hot glass eventually moving to Maleny and setting up his hot-glass studio an establishing himself as one of Queensland’s premier glass artists.

A survivor of Cyclone Tracy in Darwin in 1974, Marc believes glass-blowing is not for the faint-hearted – “…it is physically demanding, extremely hot work requiring great dexterity and presence of mind because there is rarely a second chance to achieve the desired results in glass.”
